Galvanized Steel (GI) Tubes

Galvanized Steel(GI) Tubes are also manufactured by the same processes as MS tubes. However, GI tubes go through an extra step of processing, which is galvanization. Galvanization is the process of adding a protective layer of zinc coating on the mild steel surface, making the tubes strongly resistant to corrosion. 
Galvanization can be carried out in 2 major ways, electro galvanizing and hot-dip galvanizing. Tubes with thinner walls follow the process of electro galvanizing whilst tubes with thicker walls take hot-dip galvanizing approach. 

Al Ittefaq Steel is one of the few places in Qatar to offer both MS as well as GI tubes. Most GI tubes at Al Ittefaq Steel have with zinc coating of up to 40g/m2 to prevent corrosion.
