Mild Steel (MS) Pipes

Description

Mild Steel (MS) pipes can be broadly divided into 2 categories based on their manufacturing process. When pipes are manufactured by roll forming MS coils and welding them to connect longitudinally, they are called ERW(Electric Resistance Welded) pipes. On the other hand, if the pipes are extruded out of MS billets, then they are called seamless pipes.

Mild Steel (MS) Pipes are widely used across the industry due to their versatility. Some of their applications include structural and construction purposes, fencing, trucks and transport manufacturing, along with transportation of fluids for plumbing, water fighting, etc.

Al Ittefaq Steel maintains a large inventory of MS plain pipes as well as Schedule 40 pipes. When it comes to pipe sizing, schedule refers to a standard introduced by ANSI / ASME 36 that measures the nominal thickness of the pipe. Whilst there are many Schedules ranging from Sch 05 to Sch 160, the most commonly used one is Schedule 40.
