Description
Mild Steel (MS) Plain sheets are manufactured by following a few steps. Firstly, melted steel is poured into a rectangular mold. Once cooled, the it the now rectangular shaped steel block is removed from the mold and cleaned using a mixture of chemicals, known as pickling. After pickling the steel block rolled and pressed several times to achieve the desired thickness. Along with rolling the piece is also annealed for achieving increased strength. For annealing the piece is only heated, not melted again. Finally, as the steel sheet reaches the desired thickness, it can be either shipped flat by cutting to the required length or rolled into a coil if very thin. Thin sheets of the desired length can then be recoiled and cut.
MS sheets play a crucial role in the manufacturing of a multitude of items. Whilst thin sheets are used as sheet metal covers for various items and used for decorative fabrication, the thick sheets are used in the construction of buildings, bridges, tankers, ships, trailers, and in many heavy industrial machineries.
Al Ittefaq Steel has some of the largest varieties of MS sheets in the Qatari industry, catering to all kinds of business and requirements.
