Steel H Beams

As with all beams, H Beams are manufactured by hot rolling from steel billets. The construction of H Beams includes similarly sized flanges and web. The flanges of H beam are of even thickness. Their uniform cross section contributes to higher strength compared to I beams. They are usually used as columns in heavy duty construction applications.
